Share your story in Wagga Waggafest 2013

Do you have a story to share about Wagga Wagga? Want your share of $5000 in cash and prizes? Then think ‘yellow’ and get filming for the third Wagga Waggafest short film competition.

“Wagga Waggafest is a Tropfest-inspired short film competition encouraging people to share their Wagga Wagga story with the world,” Mayor of the City of Wagga Wagga Rod Kendall explained.

This year’s Wagga Waggafest theme is yellow – an element of the City Brand adopted in 2010 – and all films must feature yellow, of any type, somewhere in the two to four minute film.

“This is the third year we have held Wagga Waggafest and it continues to grow in popularity,” Mayor Kendall said.

“I am very intrigued to see how people include the theme of yellow in their film whilst sharing with us their Wagga Wagga story. Now is the time to put on your yellow hats and summon unique Wagga Wagga imagery for inspiration – the opportunities are endless!

“The exciting thing about this festival is so many people have a connection to Wagga Wagga there’s a lot of potential for some fascinating stories to be told.”

The Wagga Waggafest Short Film Festival ties in with the adopted city brand which is based around the concept of Wagga Wagga being more than just one big thing – it’s about the hundred things that are different for all of us but add up to the City being a great place to live, work and play.

The 2013 Festival has four categories to enter, with great prizes on offer for each –
• Under 18 years
• 18-24 years
• Open
• Animation

There is also a People’s Choice Award for the film voted as the favourite.

Jump onto the Wagga Waggafest page at www.wagga.nsw.gov.au/waggawaggafest to find out all the info about where to upload your entries and to print off your entry forms.
