The village of North Wagga Wagga is a short drive from the town centre of Wagga Wagga but its residents insist that it’s a very different and special place to live. The village is on a flood plain and last year the water rose to chest height during the March flood.
Laurie Blowes, the President of the North Wagga Residents Association takes us on a tour of the community in recovery and shares some of the little things he has been doing to keep spirits up.
This video was made to show how the residents of North Wagga have been recovering 18 months after the flood and and was made with the flood affected community of Bundaberg in mind. We hope to receive a postcard in return!
Many thanks to the residents of William street, to Jill Bland, the North Wagga Residents Association and Laurie and Dell Blowes.
