Pete Law took this with his SGS 4 phone last night, as we stood on the bridge that joins the two main streets in town. This is the first time in a long time that the city has stepped forward to offer the citizens a good, safe, family focussed and fun New Years Eve celebration. It was held in the Victory Memorial gardens and thousands of folk put down their chairs or picnic blankets, brought out their food and drink or bought from the stalls, all ages attended. A 9.15 display for the littlies and then at midnight we positioned ourselves on the bridge to be right under the action. Felt the impact of the sound on our chests.
